Why the Migrant Resource Center is Run by IYRC
The IYRC is dedicated to working with migrant worker communities, focusing on their adolescents and youth. By centering our efforts on the youth, we naturally establish connections with their families. This holistic approach has revealed several challenges these families face, such as lack of awareness, inaccessibility to social security schemes, and inadequate documentation, including PF, ESCI, Aadhaar, PAN, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, and bank accounts, as well as E-shram portal.
Addressing Critical Issues
Our work with these families has highlighted the necessity of providing accurate information about their rights and entitlements, which many are unaware of. To address this, we have initiated community training programs covering topics such as financial literacy, the POSH Act, and essential rights.
The Establishment of the Migrant Resource Center (MRC)
Recognizing these multifaceted challenges, we established the Migrant Resource Center (MRC). This center serves as a hub for providing crucial support to migrant worker communities. Through the MRC, we strive to connect families and their children to various benefits, such as scholarships and government schemes, ensuring they have the resources and knowledge needed to thrive.
