About Us – Welcome to Ideal Youth for Revolutionary Changes (IYRC) NGO, a youth-led organization committed to multidimensional growth and development in society. Founded on March 19, 2017, by a group of self-motivated young change-makers, we believe in the power of youth to shape a better society.

Vision – Creating an environment where youth develop leadership skills, embrace their rights, and stay vigilant for successful social change.

Mission – Empowering youth through leadership, collaboration, and active participation to ensure their significant contribution to social equality, justice, and human rights.

IYRC Story –

In September 2016, a pivotal meeting took place that would lay the foundation for a transformative movement. Approximately 22 students, all from migrant worker families, gathered to discuss the pressing issues affecting their lives. During this conversation, one brave member shared a personal story of domestic violence at home and its profound impact. This revelation was a watershed moment, as 20 out of the 22 students admitted that they, too, faced similar issues but felt unable to voice their struggles.

This collective sharing was a catalyst for change, igniting a spark within the group. Among them was Suraj Kant, who, inspired by the shared experiences and the need for a safe space, shared his own story. Recognizing the urgency for a platform where youth could openly discuss their challenges, Suraj proposed the idea of the Ideal Youth For Revolutionary Changes (IYRC) in December 2016. The vision was clear: to create a supportive environment where adolescents and youth could express their experiences, confront societal issues, and drive change.

By March 2017, the IYRC was officially established, propelled by the enthusiasm and commitment of its members. At just 19 years old, Suraj Kant began using theatre as a powerful tool to bring critical issues to the forefront. This innovative approach allowed members to explore and address their concerns through performance, fostering empathy and understanding within the community. Over time, the inclusion of additional art forms such as dance, singing, and painting further expanded the ways in which members could express themselves and advocate for change.

The unique aspect of IYRC is that all board members come from migrant worker families and are young individuals themselves. This brings an authentic and deeply personal perspective to the council’s mission, ensuring that the organization remains true to the needs and voices of its community.

The IYRC’s journey from a small gathering of students to a robust organization underscores the transformative power of youth-led initiatives. By creating a safe and supportive platform, IYRC has empowered countless young people to voice their experiences, seek support, and foster resilience within their communities. This organization exemplifies how youth, when given the opportunity and tools, can lead and enact significant positive change.
